How does Scotts Valley Dog Walker & Companion differ from other dog walkers and animal care service in the area?
Will you walk my dog if it has poor leash skills? Dogs that weigh more then 30 pounds must have good leash skills (no pulling, jumping, biting/chewing the leash, body slamming, dog-aggression or reactive). Unfortunately, I am unable to accept big, strong dogs or untrained large breed puppies - not because I don't love but for safety reasons.
What are your dog walking and visit rates? $30 for 30 minutes for animal care and walks.
What are your fees for more than one pet? I charge a flat rate for one or more pets providing they live in the same household.
Are you insured? Yes. Upon request I'm happy to provide proof of insurance.
Do you care for other animals? I provide companion visits for cats, dogs and small animals.
Will you meet my pet before caring for them? The first thing we do is schedule a complimentary Greet & Meet appointment.
What are Meet & Greet appointments? It's a complimentary appointment and opportunity for us to get to know each other. It's also a good time to ask any questions or concerns and tell me more about your pet's disposition and needs. Meet & Greets are important and a requirement prior to scheduling a walk or visit.
What is your cancellation fee? No fee, providing 24-hours notice is given.
Do you walk dogs in a group? No. Your pets will receive one-on-one care & attention unless you request differently. I'm happy to socialize your pet at parks or beaches.
Do you offer overnight pet sitting? No.
Are you a trainer or behaviorist? No.
Will you take animals with behavior challenges? It depends on the animal and the behavior concern. This is something we would talk about during our Greet & Meet visit. For safety reasons, I am unwilling to walk aggressive or strong dogs. Dogs that weigh 25 pounds or more must have good leash-walking skills.
If my dog needs medication will you administer it? Yes.
If I set up my visits or walks on an as-needed basis is there a guarantee I'll get the time slot I want? No. Regular clients get first dibs. However, most of the time I can get you in the schedule.
- I'm local! I've lived in the Santa Cruz mountains for over 30 years and I'm very much connected with my community as well as with the animal-community in the Santa Cruz county.
- I give individual attention & care to your pet(s). All dog walks are one-on-one unless you have more then one dog. I never combine your pet's walk or care with another clients' animal.
- I keep my case load small so I can personally provide quality care to each one of my clients.
- I have pet care insurance.
- No cancellation fee. Even if you schedule a time, there is no fee to cancel your dog walk.
